What if I have general cancer questions?

You may have general questions about cancer prevention, nutrition, screening and symptoms, such as, “What should I do or eat to prevent cancer? Could I have symptoms of breast cancer? I have a family history of cancer, should I get genetic testing?” askSARAH nurses can help to address your questions, connect you to resources in your area and even help you obtain an appointment with a specialist, should you need one.

What if I have questions specific to a cancer diagnosis?

askSARAH nurses can help you with questions related to cancer diagnosis, treatment, clinical trials, and survivorship, such as, “What does my diagnosis mean? Is the cancer common or rare? What does ‘Stage II’ mean? What are my treatment options? What should I eat while receiving treatment? Could I be eligible for a clinical trial? Are there support groups near me?” An askSARAH nurse can help answer such questions and also offer to connect you to a care team member, such as a nurse navigator, who can help you understand your diagnosis and next steps.
