Sammie Mosier, DHA, MA, BSN, NE-BC
Senior Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive

Sammie S. Mosier is senior vice president and chief nurse executive for Nashville, Tennessee-based HCA Healthcare, one of the nation’s leading providers of healthcare services. Dr. Mosier leads a team of nurse executives at the regional and facility level, and more than 99,000 registered nurses working in HCA Healthcare hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers and other sites of care.

Mosier joined HCA Healthcare in 1996 as a medical-surgical nurse at Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort, Kentucky. Throughout her career, Mosier has demonstrated a strong focus on advocating for nurses, driving clinical excellence and colleague engagement, and supporting the professional development of leaders at every level of the organization. She also spearheaded HCA Healthcare’s Nursing Advocacy Agenda and Unit of Distinction Awards.

Most recently, Mosier served as the chief nurse executive officer for the HCA Healthcare National Group and vice president of group clinical operations in the Clinical Operations Group. Prior to this role, she served as the vice president and assistant chief nurse executive with the legacy Clinical Service Group.

Mosier earned a doctorate in healthcare administration, a master’s degree in management and leadership from Webster University, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from McKendree University. She is a board-certified nurse executive through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Erica Rossitto, MBA/HCM, BSN, RN, NEA-BC
Senior Vice President and Assistant Chief Nurse Executive

Erica Rossitto is senior vice president and assistant chief nurse executive for HCA Healthcare, serving as the nursing leader for our Atlantic Group and leading group operations with the emergency room, trauma and surgery business lines. Prior to this role, Rossitto served as chief nurse executive officer for the American Group and vice president of group clinical operations in the Clinical Operations Group. As the group CNE, Rossitto had responsibility for nursing clinical, leadership, operational and quality performance within the eight American Group divisions. She also oversaw the clinical operations support team responsible for nursing operations as well as emergency, trauma, dialysis, transplant and surgical services clinical strategies.

Rossitto began her career with HCA Healthcare as a nurse at Swedish Medical Center, where she spent eight years in various staff and leadership roles, eventually progressing to the position of associate chief nursing officer. In 2007, she graduated from HCA Healthcare’s prestigious CNO Executive Development Program, and shortly thereafter was promoted to her first CNO role at North Suburban Medical Center. She also served as the CNO at The Medical Center of Aurora before being promoted to division chief nurse executive for the Continental Division, a role she held for four years. Throughout her 20-year career with HCA Healthcare, Rossitto has led with a passion for developing others. Her focus on advocacy for the nursing agenda has fostered cultures that support nurse retention and engagement, as well as promoted improved patient outcomes. Her team was recognized as the No.1 large healthcare system in the country by IBM Watson Health in 2020.

Originally from Louisiana, she received her bachelor's degree in nursing from McNeese State University, with a minor in psychology. Rossitto also has her Master of Business Administration with a focus in healthcare management and earned her Nurse Executive Advanced Board Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She has served on various boards, including the Colorado Organization of Nurse Leaders, The Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence and the Regis University Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions advisory board. Her current board service includes the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund board, The Beryl Institute Nurse Executive Council and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement Age-Friendly Health Systems Advisory Group.

Kelli Nations, DBA, MHA, BSN, RN, NE-BC
Chief Nurse Executive, American Group

Kelli Nations currently serves as chief nurse executive for the HCA Healthcare American Group and is responsible for nursing clinical leadership, practice and operations with the American Group divisions. She is a dynamic nurse executive known for her unwavering dedication to exceptional patient care and proven leadership abilities. With a diverse background spanning over two decades at HCA Healthcare, Nations has consistently demonstrated her knack for identifying and nurturing top talent, inspiring teams to achieve outstanding results across various domains, including workforce development, clinical excellence and emergency management.

In her previous role as chief nurse executive for the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division, Nations spearheaded initiatives to enhance nurse engagement, increase internal hire rates and reduce mortality and infection rates. She has also played a pivotal role in workforce development, serving as the executive chair of the Women’s Colleague Network and facilitating the successful launch of the Nurse Leadership Development Program.

Nations’ commitment to excellence extends beyond her organization, as evidenced by her numerous media engagements and speaking engagements at various industry events. She is actively involved in corporate leadership councils and has received several prestigious awards, including the National Diversity Council’s Top 50 Healthcare Professional Award and the Houston Business Journal Healthcare Hero Award.

With a doctorate in business administration and a master's in healthcare administration, Nations combines academic excellence with real-world experience to drive positive change and innovation in the healthcare industry. Her relentless pursuit of excellence and passion for nursing make her a truly invaluable asset to HCA Healthcare and the healthcare community as a whole.

Natalie L. Ransom, DNP, RN, CENP, NEA-BC
Chief Nurse Executive, National Group

Vice President, Group Clinical Operations

Natalie Ransom is the chief nurse executive for the National Group and the vice president of group clinical operations. She is responsible for nursing clinical, leadership, operational and quality performance within the five National Group divisions, encompassing more than 50 hospitals across eleven states. Prior to her current role, Dr. Ransom served as the chief nurse executive for the East Florida Division from 2021-2024.

Ransom began her career with HCA Healthcare as a student nurse tech in 1997. She has served in various leadership roles, including the chief nursing officer of North Florida Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, and MountainView Hospital and Southern Hills Hospital, both in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is a 2011 CNO Executive Development Program graduate.

A HCA Healthcare Frist Humanitarian Award winner, Ransom is also an active member of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership. She has served on various boards, including the American Cancer Society, Broward College Foundation, and several key academic colleges and universities. Ransom currently serves on the Board of Commissioners for the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation.

Ransom earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Valdosta State University, a Master of Science in nursing from the University of Phoenix, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Capella University. She is board certified in Executive Nursing Practice (CENP) and Nurse Executive, Advanced (NEA-BC).

Division leadership

HCA Healthcare nurses are represented in each division by a division chief nurse executive (DCNE). The DCNEs establish the overall strategic direction for the practice of nursing and nursing operations across each division. A culture of nursing and clinical excellence is fostered in collaboration with facility CNOs and other nursing leaders. The DCNE drives the culture of caring within the division that aims to create an exceptional patient experience and professional practice environment in all sites of care.
